Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are between you ("User" or "you") and Arvestria SRL ("we", "us", "our", "Licensor"), a company registered in Belgium (VAT BE0685398535), and govern your use of the GeoAddIn software ("Software") and the GeoAddIn website at www.geoaddin.com ("Website").

By downloading, installing, or using the Software, or by using the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software or Website.

1. Definitions

"Software" means the GeoAddIn PowerPoint add-in, including all associated data files, documentation, and updates.

"License Key" means the unique key provided to you to activate and use the Software.

"Subscription" means the paid annual license to use the Software.

"Trial" means the free 14-day evaluation period for the Software.

"Beta" means the free pre-release version of the Software available until September 1, 2026.

2. License grant

Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees (for Subscriptions), we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software on up to three (3) devices you own or control.

For Trial users: the license is valid for 14 days from activation, may be used on up to three (3) devices, and includes full functionality.

For Beta users: the license is valid until September 1, 2026, includes full functionality, and is provided free of charge for evaluation purposes.

3. Restrictions

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the Software or any part of it.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software.
• Sublicense, sell, rent, or lend the Software or your License Key to any third party.
• Share your License Key with others or use it on more devices than permitted.
• Use the Software for any purpose that violates applicable law.

4. Subscription and payment

Subscriptions are billed annually. Payment is processed by our merchant of record partner. Prices are shown excluding applicable taxes (such as VAT), which are added at checkout based on your location.

Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.

5. Trial

The Trial provides full access to the Software for 14 days from activation. No payment is required for the Trial. At the end of the Trial period, the Software will cease to function unless you purchase a Subscription. The Trial may be used on up to three (3) devices. One Trial per person.

6. Beta

The Beta version is provided free of charge until September 1, 2026. After this date, the Beta version will cease to function. Beta users will be notified before expiry with information about purchasing a Subscription.

7. Your maps and data

Maps created with GeoAddIn are native PowerPoint shapes stored in your .pptx files. They belong to you and will continue to work in PowerPoint even if the Software is uninstalled or your license expires. You retain full ownership of all presentations and content you create using the Software.

8. Intellectual property

The Software, including its code, documentation, and design, is the intellectual property of Arvestria SRL and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. This license does not transfer any ownership rights to you.

The geographic database included with the Software is derived from OpenStreetMap data, which is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL). For details, see openstreetmap.org/copyright. Maps created with GeoAddIn may be used freely in your presentations without additional attribution requirements, as they constitute produced works under the ODbL.

9. Updates

We may release updates to the Software and geographic database from time to time. Active Subscribers receive all updates at no additional cost. We reserve the right to modify the Software's features and functionality.

10. Feedback

If you provide feedback, bug reports, or suggestions about the Software, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide license to use that feedback for any purpose, including incorporating it into future versions of the Software.

11. Data collection

By using the Software you acknowledge that we collect certain data as described in our Privacy Policy, including device identifiers for license activation and email addresses for account management.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL OPERATE WITHOUT INTERRUPTION OR BE ERROR-FREE.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ARVESTRIA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

14. Termination

We may terminate this license and your access to the Software at any time if you breach these Terms. Upon termination you must immediately cease using the Software and delete all copies. Termination does not affect maps already created and saved in your PowerPoint files.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Brussels, Belgium.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
